Bajaj Pulsar is a very popular nameplate in Indian Motoring History. The flagship naked streetfighter in the Bajaj Pulsar family is the Pulsar NS 200. It was first launched in India in the year 2012 but was discontinued in 2015. Then, it made a comeback in 2017 with a bang and last year it received the BS6 treatment too. 2021 Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 BS6 - Pros and Cons

PROS

Engine Performance - The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is one of the most powerful motorcycles in its segment. It is powered by a BS6 compliant 199.5cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve, liquid-cooled, triple spark, fuel-injected, DTS-i engine. This motor churns out a very healthy 24.5 PS of maximum power at 9750 RPM and 18.5 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is an extremely fast motorcycle and it surely justifies its Naked Sport badging.

Styling and Colour Options - The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 looks handsome. It has a macho character and it appeals to the masses. Talking about colour options, it is available in four colours. They are Burnt Red, Pewter Grey, Satin Blue and Metallic Pearl White.

Ergonomics and Hardware - The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is a very comfortable motorcycle even for tall riders, thanks to its sorted ergonomics. The NS 200 has an upright seating posture and it feels agile while riding. Also, it gets good hardware components. For instance, it sits on a perimeter frame for sharp and agile handling. For suspension duties, it gets telescopic forks at the front and a nitrox gas-charged mono-shock absorber at the rear. The braking duties are performed by petal disc brakes at both ends.

Price - The new 2021 Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 BS6 is currently priced at Rs. 1.33 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi and at this price point, it is a very good performance machine.

CONS

Single-channel ABS - The braking duties on the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 BS6 are performed by petal disc brakes at both ends. At the front, it gets a 300 mm disc while at the rear one is a 230 mm unit. Also, for additional safety, it gets a single-channel ABS and that's a bummer as some of its rivals offer dual-channel ABS.

Lacks Features - The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is barely loaded with any new-age goodies. It doesn't get a LED headlight and even the semi-analogue semi-digital instrument cluster is very basic and lacks information.

Feels Dated - The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is a good-looking motorcycle for sure, but, it's also true that it now feels dated and it deserves a comprehensive update from the manufacturer.

Other Niggles - Some other niggles in this naked motorcycle include hard gear shifts and also the chain starts making noise after 5000 kms or so and then it needs frequent adjustments.
