Maruti Suzuki India Limited is the largest car manufacturer in the country. Maruti Suzuki has a lot of cars in its portfolio ranging from the entry-level Alto to the flagship S-Cross. Maruti's market share in the Indian car market is more than 50 per cent and that's because the company makes affordable consumer-centric products. Also, the company keeps updating its products regularly. The carmaker will soon launch the new-generation model of the Celerio hatchback. Ahead of its launch, the upcoming new-gen 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been spied on test in India once again in clear images.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio was first launched in India in the year 2014. It was an instant hit owing to multiple reasons. The 2014 Maruti Celerio had a unique two-cylinder diesel engine and it also got the revolutionary AMT technology. The Celerio got a mid-life update in 2017. But, Maruti Suzuki knows that the Celerio is ageing and so the company will soon launch the new-generation Celerio. The new-gen Celerio will be completely new and it has been spied on test in India several times previously too. Just a few days ago, we brought for you the images of the interior of the new-gen Maruti Celerio exclusively on the internet. You can read about it by clicking HERE.
The new fresh images reveal the exterior details of the car. The new-gen Celerio has been internally codenamed as 'YNC' and it will be based on the carmaker's new Heartect platform. Also, though the test mule is completely camouflaged, we can make out that the new-gen Celerio will be longer and wider than its predecessor. It will get a higher ground clearance and will sit on a longer wheelbase too. At the front, one can see that it gets a new grille, new bumpers, redesigned headlights and new fog lamps. The side profile of the car shows the new multi-spoke alloys, ORVMs with turn indicators and a tall-boy design. At the rear, again it gets new bumpers and new taillights.
The previously spied images of the new 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio reveals that it will get a more spacious cabin, a new layout for the dashboard, new steering wheel and more. The new-gen Celerio will be powered by the same BS6-compliant 998cc, three-cylinder petrol engine. This motor will churn out 67 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM. The engine will come to a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as an AMT. It will get a CNG variant too. At present, the petrol-powered BS6-compliant Maruti Suzuki Celerio is priced between Rs. 4.41 lakhs - Rs. 5.58 lakhs while the bi-fuel CNG variants are priced between Rs. 5.60 lakhs - Rs. 5.68 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
The new-generation 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to be launched in the first half of 2021. The new-gen model will be priced a bit premium compared to the current-gen Celerio. Once launched, it will rival against the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, etc. What are your thoughts on the new-gen Celerio?
