The Mahindra Scorpio N is the most awaited SUV in the country that will be launched on June 27, 2022. A lot about the features, its new platform and even the engine options have been out on the internet but none of which have been confirmed by Mahindra itself. Now, according to the reports, the Scorpio N will be powered by two engine options - 2.0L mStallion petrol and 2.2L mHawk diesel motor. The power figures too for the same are now out and these are the same engines that are used in the Thar as well as the XUV700.
Let's have a look at the power figures of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N

As can be seen above, the new Scorpio N belts out 170 PS of power from the 2.0L, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor. This same unit makes 150 PS in the Thar and 200 PS in the XUV700.

For the oil burner, the base variants of the Scorpio will make 130 PS which is the same as Mahindra Thar and the higher variants will generate 170 PS. The XUV700 makes 155 PS and 185 PS with the same 2.2L mHawk diesel engine. Both the engines will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard and will get a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.
What's interesting is that both motors will be offered with a four-wheel-drive set-up as an option. We expect Mahindra to offer this set-up as an option in the mid-spec variants too. Rest, the Scorpio N will be offered with a rear-wheel-drive set-up as standard.
Feature-wise, do expect dual-zone climate control, an electric sunroof, power-folding ORVMs, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power-adjustable driver's seat, a 360-degree camera and more.
Safety equipment too on the Scorpio N will rise as we expect multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, a high-speed alert system, front seat-belt reminder and more. It should be worth noting that the new Scorpio N will also be high in terms of safety and we expect full 5 stars at the Global NCAP crash test rating.
As far as the pricing for the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N goes, we expect it to be priced from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. There's no direct competition to the Scorpio N but if you look at the price segment then it rivals mid-size SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor.
