Maruti has garnered over 20,000 bookings for the upcoming 2022 Grand Vitara. The interesting bit is that the mid-size SUV hasn't even launched yet and still garnered a lot of interest from potential buyers. The bookings started weeks ago at Rs 11,000 and the launch is expected in late August.
Engine Options
Powered by two engine options - 1.5L mild hybrid petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid. The former is the same unit as found in the Brezza and generates 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. This engine gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The 1.5L strong hybrid motor has garnered 45% of the bookings and belts out a peak power and torque of 114 bhp and 122 Nm, respectively. This engine is mated to an e-CVT unit only. The ARAI-certified mileage of this motor is 27.97 kmpl which is the first in the segment.

Feature-wise, the Grand Vitara now gets a panoramic sunroof, 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, head-up display, 360-degree camera, ventilated cooled front seats and more to name.

Variants of the Grand Vitara
The strong hybrid motor is available in two variants - Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus while the 1.5L mild hybrid gets segregated into Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
