Hi, I'm Tejen. I was born and brought up in a small town of Haryana. However, from the day of my birth and until now, I've always lived around cars and motorcycles. More than passion, the automotive world is my only lifestyle. It's the connection to the vehicle that delivers me peace. However, when it comes to a choice; my instinct leads me towards motorcycles.

Speaking of what's changed, the three colour options are now discontinued. Which one? Well, the Lake Blue, Rock Red, and Mirage Silver paint schemes are now unavailable for the bike. However, these have been replaced by new colours. Dune Brown, Glacier Blue, and Sleet Black are the new paint options that have replaced the abovesaid colours. Additionally, other paint schemes like Gravel Grey, Pine Green, and Granite Black are still on sale. The new updated bike is now priced at Rs 2,51,900 ex-showroom, Chennai.

Meanwhile, RE has also fiddled a bit with the cosmetics of the Himalayan. The Himalayan badge is now debossed on the grill and the side panels. Additionally, a much-awaited USB phone charging socket has been added to the updated bike. However, the rest of the bike is unchanged. It uses the same old tried and tested 411cc engine. This single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine makes a peak power of 24.3 bhp & 32 Nm of peak torque.

The ADV style & hardware of Himalayan is well-loved by enthusiasts but it's now getting old. To cope with the brand fatigue, RE is already constructing a new Himalayan 450 ADV. This new model is about to debut soon in India; maybe in the coming one month. Hence, the remaining lot of the current Himalayan needs to be cleared. Additionally, customers who like the current Himalayan design shall be left with the option of Scram 411. The Scram looks a lot more like its sibling ADV bike.

Verdict

The addition of new colours has given a fresh flair to the old Himalayan. However, as the debut of the new 450cc Himalayan successor nears; the sales of the current bike are dipping. If you're eyeing to buy a proper ADV with no hassle whatsoever, the current Himalayan is a deal to look forward to. Its main rival in India are - Hero Xpulse 200 4V & KTM Adventure 390.
