Variant Recommendation
The highly recommended variant within the Skoda Kodiaq lineup is the Style AT. While this specific variant may not provide feel-good features such as a 360-degree camera or virtual cockpit, it encompasses all the essential features and offers a premium appeal. If your preference leans toward incorporating all the feel-good features, opt for the top-of-the-line L&K variant, as it represents a substantial upgrade. On the other hand, the mid-Sportline variant may not be deemed a worthy upgrade in comparison.
Pros & Cons of Skoda Kodiaq
Should I buy the Kodiaq?
If you're in the market for a luxury 3-row SUV with an array of features, the Skoda Kodiaq is worth considering. It presents a premium cabin, numerous feel-good features, impressive ride quality, and other good road dynamics. However, if you desire a rugged appeal in your SUV coupled with a robust diesel engine, the Toyota Fortuner or the MG Gloster could better suit your requirements, as the Kodiaq is exclusively available with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine.
- Skoda has recently updated its main SUV in India, the Skoda Kodiaq. The front of the Skoda Kodiaq features an elegant yet modern look keeping in line with Skoda’s signature design language. It gets projector LED headlight setup. The fog lights are now directly below the redesigned headlights, and a new LED matrix light has been added. The entire front bumper and grille have been changed in the 2021 version of the Kodiaq.
- Apart from new alloy wheels with a focus on fuel efficiency, most of the Kodiaq's appearance remains the same. The rear lights have been replaced with new lighting systems, and the bumper has been modified with redesigned light reflectors.
- The Skoda logo, a distinctive design element established by Skoda's design director Oliver Stefani, is now positioned just above the license plate holder. Overall, the headlights, rear lights, bumper, and grille have been updated and modified, giving the Skoda Kodiaq a significant makeover from the outside.
- The Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 188 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, this new engine is asserted by Skoda to be 4.2 percent more fuel-efficient than its predecessor. Additionally, it comes standard with a 4X4 drivetrain across all its variants.
- The engine provides ample power and torque, allowing for swift maneuvers and smooth city drives. It promptly responds to the throttle, consistently ready to achieve high speeds in triple digits. The engine is finely tuned to deliver an exhilarating performance.
- Skoda cars have consistently been known for having interiors that are both exceptionally comfortable and loaded with features. The new Skoda Kodiaq takes this a step further by offering additional technology and comfort features to its passengers.
- The traditional instrument panel has been replaced with a 10.25-inch fully digital and customizable panel screen. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Canton 12-Speaker sound system, 3-zone climate control, and other features.
- The Kodiaq presently holds the position of Skoda's flagship SUV in India. A new feature for second-row passengers is the lounge step board, designed to enhance accessibility and make getting in and out much easier. Furthermore, the rear now features a spoiler to enhance aerodynamics and elevate high-speed stability. An additional intelligent addition is the door hinge protection, a sought-after accessory feature that proves useful for real-world buyers.
- Skoda always aims to give its customers a luxurious and smooth ride. The Skoda Kodiaq is similar to high-end luxury cars in providing enjoyable steering feedback and a calm ride. Large SUVs are expected to offer varied passenger comfort, and while the Kodiaq is comfortable, it's not extremely so
- Even when driven assertively, its suspensions skillfully absorb impacts, preventing excessive rocking or bouncing. This makes it drive surprisingly well for its size. However, on surfaces that aren't perfectly smooth, the ride can feel a bit unsettled due to slightly firmer suspension springs. This aspect might be more noticeable because of choices in anti-roll bars, and our sample car's adjustable dampers didn't completely resolve this.
- The Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) allows the car to adapt its damping according to the type of terrain you're driving on. This feature ensures a more comfortable ride, whether you're on smooth roads or rough terrain.

Comfortable cushy ride, great acceleration in sports mode and with the available torque, it's easy to maneuver during city drives. 5/7 seat configuration option makes it a very practical option for families.
