2024 Ford Endeavour Pickup Truck Details: Engine, Price, Launch Date

The rumours about Ford coming back to India seem to be true. After getting the Endeavour design homologated, the upcoming SUV and the Ranger pickup truck have been spotted in Chennai. The spy shots showcase two models in retail-ready avatars being transported via flatbed trucks. These spy shots have created a stir among online automotive enthusiast groups. Looks like Ford is silently importing these units to test, research, and probably get the required certifications before the launch.

While the Endeavour has been a star product for Ford in the past, the Ranger has been spotted for the first time. Crucially, both models are based on the same platform. But, the Ranger is a rugged farm truck that has better capabilities off-road. The Ranger, however, sacrifices luxury and comfort for better utility.

Under the bonnet, both models use the same 2.2-lt, bi-turbo diesel engine. A 10-speed torque converter automatic transmission is offered along with this engine. The Ranger will make a strong case for itself in India as the Toyota Hilux has been struggling to sell. Meanwhile, the Endeavour has been a proven competitor to the segment king Toyota Fortuner.

Is Ford Coming Back?

Now, the major question is the comeback of Ford Motor Company. While there is no solid evidence available for it, Ford has been silently working on its comeback. Additionally, Ford seems to be in talks with Tata for future sharing of expertise on its upcoming products. Also, the social media handles are full of recruitment posts at the Chennai-based factory.

If all goes well, Ford might probably make an announcement in the latter half of 2024. Moreover, the initial models might focus on hybrid and EVs. Hence, the Mustang Mach E has been trademarked in India. The Endeavour, however, might witness a launch later this year.
