2024 Hyundai Sonata Unveiled With More Than Just A Facelift

Hyundai Sonata has made its way into the international market. And now the first real-life glimpse is here at the Seoul motor show. It is looking stunning in glimmering red, with a lot of resemblance with the new Hyundai Verna 2023. It can be inferred that the South Korean manufacturer is looking to give its sedans a peculiar look so that the masses can immediately realize that the car in front is a Hyundai. Just like you make out a BMW or a Mercedes.

Hyundai Sonata: Exterior And Styling

The first look gives away that this is a bigger sibling of the Verna 2023. Where the front of Verna 2023 evoked mixed emotions, this one is a clear charmer. Although both share similar design language, it is somehow sharper and comes across as more premium. This is the eighth gen of this iconic sedan.

It is based on the Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, which is seen on the Verna, and also the Accent and the Elantra in global markets. The LED bar on the bonnet with sporty air vents on the extremes of a hexagonal bumper and with lower headlamps placing demarcates the front facia.

Engine

The Sonata 2024 offers 3 powertrain options, a 2.5L turbo petrol for the N Line variant, a frugal 2.0L hybrid, and a 2.5L Naturally Aspirated unit. It is unlikely to get an AWD system as seen in the KIA K5, that sports similar underpinnings. The figures are still to be disclosed.

Features And Interiors

When it's a Hyundai, you don't have to worry about the features. The same is the case with the new Sonata.

The interior also comes with a 12-inch heads-up display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a layered dashboard, new driver-assistive and safety features, etc.

This Sonata, however, won't be making its way anytime soon in India, and even possibly be skipped altogether.
