2025 Mahindra Thar 3 Door

The Mahindra Thar 3 Door was launched back in 2020; since then, it has not undergone any updates. However, the brand has evolved with the Roxx nameplate. Going by the spy shots, we can make out that on the exterior, there are no major upgrades, but it gets new five-spoke alloy wheels with Ceat A/T tyres, which were removed earlier. Meanwhile, the LED headlamps and DRLs remain the same as the Thar Roxx. Moving to the rear, you'll notice a few feature upgrades, including the rear wiper and washer.

Interiors

Moving inside, the first thing you'll notice is the new steering wheel along with a new 10.2-inch infotainment screen, borrowed from the Roxx. Apart from this, other notable features include a wireless charging pad, front arrest, soft materials and the power window switches on the door handles. Moreover, it was expected to boast some more features, including level 2 ADAS auto dimming IRVM, TFT instrument cluster, 360-degree camera and much more.

Powertrains
Mechanically, it is expected to remain the same, powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and a 2.2-litre diesel unit. Moreover, the transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit.

Verdict
The 2025 Mahindra Thar 3-door RWD update may not be a complete overhaul, but it adds just enough freshness to keep the SUV relevant. With a more modern cabin and a handful of practical features borrowed from the Roxx, it bridges the gap between rugged charm and everyday usability. However, those expecting high-end tech like ADAS or 360-degree cameras will still find the package a bit basic.
