Audi India is prepping up to introduce the smallest member of the Q series to India. Reports suggest that Audi will launch the Q2 SUV in India in September 2020 and it will be the most affordable Audi in India. Like other Audi cars on sale in India, this will also be powered with a petrol engine only.
How Does It Look On The Outside

Audi launched the Q2 in the global markets in 2016 and it has acclaimed itself as a funky little crossover. As it was launched in 2016, the design doesn't resonate with the newer Audi cars which means no gigantic grille at the front. But that also means no tech-savvy twin screens on the inside. Talking about the exteriors, in particular, the front gets an octagonal grille which is much smaller than newer Audi cars.

The grille is flanked by LED headlights and we also get dynamic turn indicators, as an option. The side profile is plain and doesn't have any sharp creases. Although the shoulder line is flared above the rear wheel arch to give it a muscular appeal. The C-pillar gets a silver blade which is reminiscent of the Audi R8. The rear also gets squared-off LED taillights and twin exhaust pipes.
Dimensions
Talking about the dimensions, the Q2 measures 4191mm in length, 1794mm in width, 1508mm in height and offers a wheelbase of 2601mm. Just for reference, the Q2 is smaller than the Volkswagen T-Roc and sits on VW's MQB platform too. Audi Q2, with 2.0-litre TFSI Quattro, offers a boot space of 355 litres.

Stepping Inside

Stepping inside the Audi Q2 and you will realise its like older Audi cars. The turbine-shaped AC vents and clean dashboard being the main reason. The main screen is 8.3-inch infotainment which is MMI-controlled and offers Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Audi offers the Virtual Cockpit and rear powered tailgate as an option. Minimalist people will love the tactile buttons for the HVAC controls which in newer Audis, have been replaced by screens.
Engine and Expected Price

Talking about the propulsor, it will be a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine which will produce 190hp and 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Quattro system helps it to propel from nought to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and top whack is 228 km/h. Audi Q2 India launch is expected in September 2020 and it may be priced from Rs 35 lakhs to 40 lakhs ex-showroom. Unlike the other Audi cars in India, Audi will offer various trims and options with the Q2 and it will rival cars like BMW X1, 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLA and Volvo XC40.
