  • Read on for all details

In a recent move, Bajaj has discontinued the Bajaj Pulsar N160 . But there is a catch. It will still be in production for you to buy as a specific variant has been chopped off the portfolio and not the bike altogether. This move stemmed from the diminishing demand when compared to its superior variant.

Read on to find out which variant of the Pulsar N160 has been put to rest for good.

Bajaj Pulsar N160 Single Channel ABS Variant No More On Offer

According to reports from Bajaj Auto dealerships, the majority of customers preferred the dual-channel ABS variant, resulting in a substantial decline in demand for the single-channel ABS version. Consequently, Bajaj Auto opted to discontinue the single-channel ABS variant a few months ago.

Introduced last year, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 initially offered two variants single-channel ABS and dual-channel ABS, priced at Rs. 1,22,854/- and Rs. 1,27,853/- (ex-showroom) respectively. The minimal Rs. 5000/- price difference made the enhanced safety provided by the dual-channel ABS more attractive to buyers. This is the main reason for this discontinuation where buyers are now pressing on safer vehicles.

Currently, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 is exclusively available with dual-channel ABS, priced at Rs. 1,30,560/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle is offered in three colours Brooklyn Black, Racing Red, and Caribbean Blue, all available at the same price point.

The bike is powered by a 164.82cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine that produces 16 PS and 14.65 Nm of torque. The Bajaj Pulsar N160 competes against the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3.0, Suzuki Gixxer, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

Verdict

Bajaj Motors has a lot on its plate right now. While they have been continuously expanding its portfolio, some products need to be shed-off too. With the discontinuation of the single-channel ABS variant, Bajaj Auto aims to streamline its product offerings to better align with customer preferences and market trends. This decision reflects the brand's strategic response to the shifting demand in favor of the dual-channel ABS version that offers enhanced safety.
