What's New in 2025?

The 2025 Pulsar NS400Z arrives subtly but with purposeful improvements aimed at enhancing the ride experience. At first glance, you might mistake it for the 2024 version, as the bodywork, graphics, and colour palette remain unchanged. The same four color options - Brooklyn Black, Glossy Racing Red, Pearl Metallic White, and Pewter Gray - carry over unchanged.

However, the real story lies beneath the skin. The most significant upgrade is the adoption of Apollo Alpha H1 tyres, replacing the MRF REVZ-S setup of the earlier model. Not only has Bajaj opted for a higher-grade tyre for improved grip and handling, but it has also up-sized the rear tyre from 140-section to a beefier 150-section. This means more rubber on the road, translating to better cornering confidence and enhanced stability at higher speeds.

Another area where the NS400Z faced criticism was braking. Bajaj has answered with new sintered brake pads at the front, replacing the earlier organic pads. This upgrade promises a more reassuring bite and lever feel, allowing riders to brake harder with greater confidence.

Compliance and Performance

Under the hood, the Pulsar NS400Z retains its trusted 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine - the same powerplant derived from KTM's lineup. The motor is now compliant with BS6 P2 OBD2B emission standards, ensuring it meets the latest regulatory requirements without compromising on performance. Bajaj claims the bike continues to deliver around 40 bhp and 35 Nm of torque, paired to a slick 6-speed gearbox.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: No Major Visual Overhaul

Despite the mechanical enhancements, Bajaj hasn't tinkered with the Pulsar's sharp, aggressive styling. Fans of the NS series will appreciate the continuity in design, while those hoping for fresh aesthetics might have to wait a little longer.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Price and Value

The 2025 upgrade does come with a slight premium - about Rs. 11,000 more than before - bringing the ex-showroom Delhi price to approximately Rs. 1.92 lakh. While some might raise eyebrows at the hike, the improvements in grip and braking justify the bump, keeping the Pulsar NS400Z a standout option in the sub-500cc naked bike segment. It continues to punch well above its price point, especially when compared to rivals like the Yamaha R15 and Hero Xtreme 250R.

Verdict

With its latest update, Bajaj has demonstrated that it's paying close attention to both its community of riders and critical feedback. By focusing on practical enhancements - better tyres, improved braking, and emissions compliance - the company has made the Pulsar NS400Z an even stronger contender for riders seeking performance and value in a naked sportbike.
