Force Motors has recently launched the 5-Door version of the Gurkha and updated the 3-Door version with new features. The brand now seems to be planning to make the Gurkha 3-Door more affordable by bringing a new 4X2 variant. The brand has recently filed homologation for the upcoming Gurkha 3-Door 4X2 version and the homologation certificate has been leaked. Read the details of the upcoming Force Gurkha 4X2 below. Force Gurkha 3-Door 4X2 - More Affordable Gurkha Coming Soon
Force has recently applied for the approval certificate of the upcoming 4X2 variant and the certificate has revealed some details about the upcoming variant. The upcoming 4X2 variant will come with the same set of features and specifications as the 4X4 version. It will be powered by the same FM 2.6 CR diesel engine. In the 4X4 version, this engine produces 140 bhp of power and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 4X2 version will also get the same design with circular LED DRL and headlamp, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a rugged stance. On the features front, the 2024 Gurkha comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with updated UI, digital instrument cluster, TPMS, and manual climate control among other features. The 4X2 version will get similar features as the 4X4 version and will boast a similar 4-seater layout.
As of now, the brand has not yet confirmed or revealed the launch timeline of the upcoming RWD version.
Force Gurkha 4X2 - Price & Rivals
The 4X2 Gurkha will compete with the Mahindra Thar RWD variant. However, the pricing of the Gurkha RWD version will be interesting to see, as the Thar RWD receives tax benefits due to its 1.5-liter engine. The 4X2 Gurkha might not receive these tax benefits because of its larger 2.6-liter diesel engine. Currently, the 4X4 Gurkha starts at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom). We can expect the 4X2 Gurkha to be priced in the range of Rs 14.75 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
Verdict
Force Gurkha is a huge vehicle and comes with a single variant currently with two seating configuration. The primary rival of the Gurkha is the Mahindra Thar which sees a great demand owing to its variant offerings and engine option offerings. The upcominng Force Gurkha 4X2 variant will give a chance to the brand to get more customers.
