Ather Energy adds Surat to its List of New Experience Centres

After Ahmedabad, Ather Energy establishes its second Experience Centre in Surat. Both the 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters are in high demand in Gujrat.

Ever since the Ather 450X and 450 Pro debuted in Gujrat, via the Ather Energy Experience centre in Ahmedabad, the electric scooter has seen a surge in demand. Ather Energy sold over 3600 units of their electric scooters in October, which is a 12 fold increase in sales. Festival season obviously helped and Ather Energy experienced a productive year. To aid further retail footprint, the Bengaluru-based company had announced that it would expand into further 42 cities.

The new Experience Centre in Surat that Ather Energy will be the second retail outlet for Ather Energy for Gujrat. The company has also installed two fast-charging units at the centre. Further, 8-10 charging stations will eventually happen, which will further aid in the transition to electric mobility. By the end of FY2022, Ather Energy plans to set up 500 units of Ather Charging Grid across the country.

Owners of the 450X and 450Plus scooters will get the benefit of both public charging and a home set-up charging solution. With the Surat centre, Ather Energy now currently has 25 retail stores in 21 cities, so the viability of ownership will not be difficult.

The Athe 450 Plus costs Rs 1,07,916, and the 450X costs Rs. 1,26,926, in Ahmedabad. The former is slower produces less power at 5.4 kW and 22 Nm of torque, while the latter produces 6 kW and 26 Nm of torque. However, both come with the same 2.9 kWh battery, but the 450X has a usable capacity of 2.6 kWh, compared to the 450 Plus 2.23 kWh. Thus the pace and price difference.

Feature-wise, both come fairly equipped with the same 7 TFT LED-backlit touchscreen infotainment system that gets Bluetooth connectivity. You can also access onboard navigation, different themes, and riding modes via the screen. So, on that front, both the bikes are on the same front.
