The upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross MPV has been teased in Indonesia. The future Innova Hycross will make its Indian premiere shortly after its international debut, albeit the exact date is yet unknown. Here are the top highlights of the new MPV before the Innova Hycross makes its debut.

To Come With A Strong Hybrid Engine

The powertrain of the upcoming Innova Hycross will undergo the most significant upgrade. The next-generation MPV will have a powerful hybrid petrol engine. The powertrain duties are anticipated to be performed by a new 2.0-liter hybrid petrol engine. This engine will produce 190 bhp or more of power. An  e-CVT or automatic transmission is expected to be available with the hybrid powertrain option. By operating the vehicle in pure electric mode at moderate speeds and in city traffic, the hybrid powertrain will contribute to enhanced fuel efficiency.

To Boast A Monocoque Chassis

The Hycross will now boast a monocoque chassis, replacing the ladder-on-frame chassis used to build the current generation Innova. The MPV will have larger dimensions than the current generation in addition to having a monocoque frame. Along with redesigned front and rear fascias, the MPV will also get larger alloy wheels, a longer wheelbase, and other design changes.

Front-Wheel-Drive Drivetrain

For the Innova Hycross, a new monocoque chassis and a front-wheel-drive drivetrain will be coming as standard. With the introduction of the new Innova, the rear-wheel-drive drivetrain that the Innova now utilises will be discontinued.

No Diesel Engine On Offer

People adored the Innova for its dependable diesel engine from Toyota.  The diesel engine will be phased out in favor of the new hybrid petrol engine. Some people who like the tourquee diesel engine may find this to be disappointing. Toyota has already stopped accepting bookings for the Innova Crysta diesel version, although it may return in 2023 and be offered alongside the Hycross.

Panoramic Sunroof & Other New Features

In a recently released rendering of the Innova Hycross's chassis has revealed that it will have a panoramic sunroof. This will be the first time for Innova to get a sunroof, till now not even electric sunroof has been offered in the Innova.

Other new features will include ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, a bigger touchscreen infotainment display, and other features.
