Hero MotoCorp has introduced a new top-spec variant of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, and it brings a first-in-segment feature to the 160cc category: cruise control. After appearing quietly on Hero's website last week, the model has now been officially priced at Rs 1,34,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi), placing it above the standard Xtreme 160R 4V by Rs. 4,485. Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Sharper Design With Xtreme 250R-Inspired Headlamp

The Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition gets a cosmetic refresh, headlined by a redesigned full-LED headlamp borrowed from the Xtreme 250R. It looks slimmer, sharper, and more aggressive than before, giving the bike a bolder front stance. Hero has also introduced two new colour options to distinguish this top variant: Matt Shadow Grey and Matt Slate Red. These join existing shades Kevlar Brown and Neon Shooting Star, bringing the total to four colourways on offer.

Where this variant truly stands apart is its tech package. Hero has equipped the Combat Edition with a ride-by-wire throttle, enabling the introduction of cruise control, a feature unheard of in the 160cc segment in India. The electronic throttle system also unlocks three riding modes: Rain, Road & Sport. A new colour LCD console, shared with the Xtreme 250R, replaces the older unit. The updated switchgear integrates mode selection and cruise control toggles, reflecting the added tech.
Mechanical Package Remains Unchanged
The Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition continues with the same trusted mechanical setup as its standard counterpart. Powering the motorcycle is a 163.2cc, 4-valve, air-oil-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 16.9PS and 14.6Nm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Hero claims a 0-60 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, matching the performance of the existing 4V variants. Supporting hardware includes, KYB USD front fork, monoshock rear suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, 276mm front and 220mm rear discs, dual-channel ABS, although no slipper clutch or mechanical revisions have been introduced with this update.

Pricing & Positioning
At Rs 1.34 lakh, the Combat Edition becomes the most feature-loaded and premium variant in the Xtreme 160R 4V lineup. Despite the added technology, Hero has kept the price bump relatively modest, making it an attractive proposition for riders seeking modern features in the 160cc space.
Verdict
With the Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition, Hero MotoCorp has taken a bold step by introducing cruise control and ride-by-wire technology to a segment where such features are completely unheard of. While some may consider cruise control overkill for a 160cc motorcycle, its inclusion undeniably elevates the bike's tech appeal and helps Hero stand out in one of the most competitive categories in India. The refreshed styling, new TFT dash, and riding modes add meaningful value without altering the proven mechanical foundation. Overall, the Combat Edition positions the Xtreme 160R 4V as one of the most feature-packed 160cc motorcycles on sale today, and a strong contender for buyers seeking a tech-forward, city-friendly sporty commuter.
