Honda Cars India has started the production of City Hybrid e:HEV at their Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The bookings for the same can be done at just Rs 5,000 from the website and from Rs 21,000 at your nearest Honda dealership. Honda is expected to launch the City hybrid in the first week of May.
Honda City Hybrid gets powered by a 1.5L, four-cylinder, Atkinson cycle motor with a power control unit and an advanced Lithium-ion battery pack. This battery pack gets two motors - one for traction and the other for generation of energy.
The City hybrid gets a pure electric drive mode, petrol-only mode and a hybrid mode. However, these modes cannot be selected manually. The sensors of the car automatically sense and puts the car into the desired mode.
Honda claims that the fuel economy of the City Hybrid sticks to 26.5 kmpl. When compared it with the petrol and diesel models of the City, it is quite higher. The peak torque of the sedan sticks to 253 Nm with a useable power output of 109 bhp.

Based on the top-spec ZX variant, City gets features loaded up to the brim. It gets all LED headlights with auto high beam as a feature, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, full high-definition 7.0-inch MID screen, smartwatch connectivity and others. The interior of the Honda City Hybrid is finished in two-tone ivory and black theme.
