Renault Boreal Spotted

First thing first, the upcoming 7 seater SUV, named Boreal gets the brand's signature grille with horizontal slats. Another noticeable design element is the split LED headlamps and an LED DRL strip positioned above the grille, covering the whole front fascia. The bumper looks heavy and makes the front look muscular.

Coming to side profile, though its not that much creezy, it has a muscular visual appeal. The wheel arches and character lines does their part to make it look more SUVish and provide it with a better road presence. While subtle chrome details around the window sills add a dash of sophistication. A clever design element is the integrated rear door handles on the C-pillar, which help maintain a clean look. Although the third-row windows were partially covered, their size indicates that the cabin will feel airy and spacious - a big plus for family buyers.
India-Bound Renault Boreal: Features
Though interior images remain under wraps, reports hint at a tech-rich, dual-tone cabin. The setup could include twin 10.1-inch displays - one for infotainment and the other for the digital instrument cluster - along with premium add-ons like a 6-speaker Arkamys sound system, dual-zone climate control, and rear AC vents. Other expected features are a wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, and power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support are also expected to be on the features list.
India-Bound Renault Boreal: ADAS Tech

Renault is set to pack the Boreal with a comprehensive Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. This will include high-end safety technologies such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, speed sign detection with alert, and more - totalling 13 smart safety aids to elevate the SUV's appeal in the premium mid-size space.
India-Bound Renault Boreal: Powertrain
Internationally, the Boreal is expected to be offered with a 1.6L petrol-hybrid and a 1.2L turbocharged petrol unit. For India, Renault is reportedly leaning towards launching the hybrid version to align with evolving customer preferences and emission norms. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions are likely to be on offer, along with multiple terrain modes like Auto, Mud/Sand, Snow, Off-Road, and Eco - making it a capable soft-roader.
Launch Timeline and Expectations
The Boreal is shaping up to be more than just a stretched Duster. With its muscular road presence, feature-loaded interior, and tech-savvy safety suite, the seven-seater is likely to attract both urban SUV lovers and adventure seekers. Renault is expected to pull the covers off the India-spec model sometime next year, setting the stage for a significant expansion of its SUV portfolio.
