Price Cuts for Sub-350cc Kawasaki Models

The most significant gains are for Kawasaki's 350cc and below range, which serves as the brand's entry point into the Indian market. Models such as the W175 and the KLX off-road series have seen noticeable price reductions, in some cases up to Rs. 30,000. For instance, the W175 Street MY24 now starts at Rs. 1.25 lakh, down from Rs. 1.35 lakh. The KLX110R L MY24 has dropped from Rs. 3.12 lakh to Rs. 2.88 lakh. Even the popular Ninja 300 MY25 sees a price cut from Rs. 3.43 lakh to Rs. 3.17 lakh. These changes not only improve affordability but also strengthen Kawasaki's position against rivals in the commuter-class and beginner performance categories, who also, by the way, gets a price cut.

Impact on Larger-Capacity Kawasaki India Motorcycles

While entry-level riders will welcome the reductions, Kawasaki's bigger displacement machines have moved in the other direction. In line with the GST changes, models above 350cc now carry higher ex-showroom prices. Highlights include the Z650 MY25, up from Rs. 6.79 lakh to Rs. 7.26 lakh. The Ninja ZX-6R MY26, now at Rs. 12.49 lakh compared to Rs. 11.69 lakh earlier. Flagship bikes like the Ninja H2 SX SE MY25 now retail at Rs. 36.28 lakh, up from Rs. 33.94 lakh. The increase reflects the revised tax burden on higher-capacity motorcycles, a shift Kawasaki says is beyond the manufacturer's control.

Beyond Motorcycles: Accessories & Gear
Alongside motorcycles, Kawasaki is also extending GST-related benefits to its wider ecosystem, including spare parts, riding apparel, and accessories. This approach ensures that ownership costs, not just purchase prices, remain competitive for new and existing customers alike.
Verdict
Kawasaki's decision to pass on GST 2.0 benefits is a balanced response to India's updated tax framework. For aspiring riders, especially those eyeing entry-level models like the W175 or Ninja 300, the revised prices could lower the barrier of entry into the Kawasaki family. At the same time, premium buyers will have to contend with steeper costs in the higher-capacity segment. In essence, GST 2.0 has reshaped Kawasaki's price ladder, the bottom rungs are easier to step onto, while the top has grown steeper. Whether or not this leads to a broader base of Kawasaki riders in India will become clear in the coming months.
