KIA India has launched the updated version of its smaller SUV, the Sonet, starting at an introductory price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Sonet features a refreshed design, additional convenience and safety features, three engine options, and various transmission choices. KIA Sonet Facelift
The updated KIA Sonet showcases a refreshed exterior, featuring a new grille and bumper, Crown Jewel LED Headlamps, R16 Crystal Cut Alloy Wheels, and Star Map LED connected tail lamps. Inside, it introduces 10 best-in-segment features, including the Dual Screen Connected Panel Design, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, LED Ambient Sound Lighting, a new GT Line Logo on the steering wheel, and five interior color options with one new color.
Additional features include the Rear Door Sunshade Curtain and All Door Power Windows with one-touch Auto up/down and Safety. Compared to its closest competitors, the new Sonet boasts a minimum of 11 advantages, positioning itself as the most technologically advanced and feature-rich compact vehicle. The car is also available in a New Pewter Olive Body color, in addition to 8 Monotone, 2 Dual Tone, and 1 Matte Finish color options.
In terms of safety, it is now equipped with 10 autonomous features, including Front Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), and Lane Following Assist (LFA), among others. Additionally, it features 15 Hi-Safety elements that come standard across all variants, comprising 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), among others. With this inclusion in the Sonet, Kia has made 6 Airbags a standard feature throughout its product lineup.
KIA Sonet Facelift Engine
The new KIA Sonet provides a selection of three engines: a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine, a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. These engines can be matched with various transmissions, including a 5-speed manual for the NA petrol engine, a 6-speed iMT & 7-speed DCT for the 1.0-liter turbo engine, and options for the diesel engine encompass a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, and an AT gearbox.

Verdict
The recently introduced KIA Sonet now comes packed with a wide array of features, which has enhanced the number of safety and convenience features and some of which lead in its segment. The enhanced design of the new Sonet has added to its attractiveness. It remains in competition with other sub-4 meter SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and more.
