KIA India has launched a new GTX variant of its entry-level SUV Sonet. The new GTX variant is placed between the HTX+ and GTX+ variants and is priced at Rs 13.71 lakh (ex-showroom). KIA Sonet GTX
The newly launched GTX variant is available in 7 single-tone variants and it does not get any dual-tone colour option. The dual-tone color options are reserved for the GTX+ variant only. Also, the brand has silently added a new Aurora Black Pearl colour option to the X-Line variant as well.
The new GTX variant is filled with a plethora of features including 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with coloured MID, a 360-degree camera, 4-way power adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, smart air purifier with virus and bacteria protection among other features.
The GTX variant misses on level 1 ADAS which is reserved for the GTX+ and the X-Line versions. It also misses some other features which are available in the upper trims. such as the BOSE premium sound system.

KIA Sonet GTX Engine Options
The GTX variant is available with the 1.0-litre turbo-charged petrol engine producing 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a 7-speed DCT gearbox for the GTX trim. The other engine option is the 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed AT gearbox.
Verdict
KIA Sonet is one of the highest selling sub-4 metre SUV in the Indian market. The brand keeps on adding new variants to make the SUV more affordable and feature loaded for the customers. The new GTX variant will help the customers to get the GT Line at an affordable price point. The KIA Sonet competes with the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO and other sub-4 metre SUVs.
