Mahindra Treo e-autorickshaw Launched in Maharashtra at Rs. 2,09,000

Mahindra Electric Mobility has launched its first passenger electric auto-rickshaw, the Treo in Maharashtra. Prices start from Rs. 2,09,000, which makes them cheaper than their ICE counterparts

Mahindra Electric Mobility has launched their passenger electric three-wheels, called the Treo, in Maharashtra. This e-auto has been priced at Rs, 209,000, after FAME-II, state, and early-bird subsidies. This makes the electric auto cheaper than its IC-engine counterpart. Besides, Mahindra Electric Mobility has sold over 13,000 units of Treo all-over India, and it commands a 67% market share in this segment.

Mahindra claims that with the Treo, owners can save up to Rs. 2,00,000 over a span of five years, while maintenance costs will be at 50 paise/km. The Treo, packs in an 8 kW battery that is IP65 rated, and hence dust-proof and waterproof. It produces 42 Nm of torque, which gives it a slope climbing ability of 12.7 degrees, and a range of 130 km when fully charged. Charging duties are handled by a 16A socket via a onboard portable charger.

People looking for EMI options can buy the Trio with a low-down-payment of Rs. 41,500 from Mahindra Finance, along with an interest rate of 10.8% from the State Bank of India. Customers can also avail of an exchange bonus of Rs. 7,500 on the Mahindra Treo.

Speaking about the launch in Maharashtra, Mr. Suman Mishra, the CEO of Mahindra Electric Mobility says, Maharashtra, with its EV friendly policy, has already taken the lead in electric mobility. He also mentioned the huge savings that customers will make over a five-year time period.
