MG Motor India today announced the launch of the Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm limited-edition series at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). They are available only with the 5-seater configuration and the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a CVT gearbox. Compared with the top-spec Savvy Pro CVT, the Blackstorm and Snowstorm series is priced Rs 35,000 higher. Let’s take a look at what this series is all about.
MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm
The MG Hector Blackstorm is all about the black exterior, while the Snowstorm gets a pearl white exterior with a contrasting Starry Night roof. Both editions also get red brake callipers. So, it is quite simple, and even their names suggest the respective body colours. However, there is more than just a colour change. The alloy wheels, grille and roof rails are finished in black, while the logos, skid plates, tailgate accents and body-side cladding get dark chrome accents. The headlamp bezels have also been blacked out, while the tailgate gets a smoked effect.
The all-black theme continues inside the cabin, with the same treatment for the seats and dashboard. The edition name is also stamped on the front headrests. Customers can also opt for the Storm Series package, which adds red accents to the tailgate, fog lamp garnish and ORVM protectors, along with side step boards. Apart from these changes, the overall equipment list remains the same as the Savy Pro variant.
Powertrain
The only powertrain option available with the Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm is the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which makes 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque. This is a FWD-based monocoque SUV known for its comfortable suspension, smooth power delivery, and spacious interior.
On the features front, it gets a 360-degree parking camera, Level 2 ADAS, a 14-inch infotainment screen, a premium sound system, ambient lighting, and more.
Who Should Buy The MG Hector Blackstorm or Snowstorm?
People who love a stylised version of the Hector, especially in an all-black or white-and-black combination that exudes sportiness from every angle, should check out the MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm. Plus, being the top-spec variants, they get all the features that MG is known to offer. So, there is no need to visit the aftermarket to give the Hector a sportier look as per your taste.
