The Citroen C5 Aircross doesn't get a petrol engine. However, its arch-rivals which include the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson offer a petrol mill too. The Tucson is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This petrol motor churns out 152 PS of power at 6200 RPM and 192 Nm at 4000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Jeep Compass, on the other hand, gets a BS6 compliant 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that pumps out 163 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 250 Nm between 1750-2500 RPM. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The new Citroen C5 Aircross is powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 177 PS of maximum power at 3750 RPM and 400 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM. This diesel motor comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and it gets two drive modes too - Eco and Sport. It even gets Grip Control with five different modes. They are Standard, Snow, All-Terrain, Sand and Traction Control off. The Tucson gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 185 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 400 Nm of torque between 1750-2750 RPM. It comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Jeep Compass gets a 2.0-litre multi-jet diesel engine that churns out 170 PS of power at 3750 RPM and 350 Nm of peak torque between 1750-2500 RPM. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
