Tata's next-generation Nexon has been caught on camera again, and the latest sighting adds fresh clues about the wheels, the front end, and what might sit under the bonnet.
The compact SUV segment is one of the most crowded in India, and Tata seems to be preparing a serious response. Its next Nexon has been out on public roads for some time, and the newest spy images offer the clearest view yet of how different it will be.

Not Just Another Facelift
Earlier sightings suggested the upcoming Nexon has a more upright, squared-off body, along with a temporary tail-lamp arrangement fitted to the test mule. Those changes point to a ground-up generational update rather than a midlife refresh. Reports suggest it could be built on a new platform, though Tata has not confirmed anything officially.
Curvv-Style Alloys Appear
The most noticeable new detail is the wheels. The test car wears black-and-machined alloys with a petal-like pattern that closely resembles what Tata fits on the Curvv. The wheel size is still unclear. The tyre sidewall markings can't be read in the images, so a jump from the current Nexon's 16-inch wheels to 17 or 18 inches is possible but not confirmed.
Tata also has a history of borrowing existing wheels for test mules. The Harrier facelift was spotted on 19-inch alloys taken from the Hexa, and while the production car did get a 19-inch option, the final design was different. The Nexon's wheels could follow the same pattern. Larger wheels, if they arrive, would most likely be reserved for the upper variants.
A Changed Face
The latest images also give a first proper look at the revised front end, which looks noticeably different from the current car. Flush-fitting door handles, however, are not part of the package on this prototype.
Inside the Cabin
An earlier set of spy shots showed a stripped-down interior with a few useful details:
- A central touchscreen and a four-spoke steering wheel
- A redesigned climate control panel with more physical buttons in place of touch-sensitive haptic ones
- An electronic parking brake
- What appears to be a compact digital instrument display behind the wheel
The test car in those images had a 6-speed manual, though an automatic option is expected as well.
Engines: What to Expect
Powertrain options are expected to carry over: a petrol, a diesel, a CNG version, and an updated electric variant. Outputs will likely stay close to today's numbers, roughly 118bhp for the petrol, 99bhp for the turbo-CNG, 113bhp for the diesel, and 143bhp for the 45kWh EV. There is also talk that the combustion engines could be made compatible with higher ethanol blends.

Launch Timeline
Tata has not confirmed a design, specifications, or a date. The next-gen Nexon is widely expected to reach showrooms in 2027. Until then, more test mules and leaks are likely.
