Power and Performance

The India-spec Nissan X-Trail sources its power from a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This powerhouse comes combined with a 12V hybrid system, which jointly makes 163 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque. For transmission duties, there is a shift-by-wire CVT gearbox.

Expected Price in India

However, there is no official information regarding the price of the upcoming X-Trail SUV. We expect that X-Trail will land on Indian shores with a starting price tag of Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will price quite higher than its rivals because it will be sold in India via the CBU route. Once launched, the X-Trail will go against the MG Gloster, Skoda Kodiaq and the most popular full-size SUV, the Toyota Fortuner in India.

Verdict

Nissan's new-gen X-Trail aims to make a splash in India's SUV market, offering luxury and advanced features. However, its limited availability and high expected price (around Rs. 40 lakh) might limit its appeal against established rivals like the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner. The blend of hybrid power and premium features sets a promising tone.
