Nissan X Trail Colour Palette Revealed For India

The Nissan X-Trail is set to make its comeback in India, with a launch expected later this month. While details about the fourth-generation SUV's rich set of features and seven-seat layout have been recently revealed via teasers, information about the available color options for Indian buyers has also emerged. Surprisingly, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail will only be offered in three colors in India, despite a broader range being available for the model internationally. Interestingly, since the model will be brought in via the CBU route, the limited color selection has some deep-rooted strategic significance and is not without any reason.

The available colors for the Indian market will include Diamond Black, Champagne Silver, and Solid White. These selections were specifically chosen to enhance the X-Trail's premium appeal and emphasize its return to a more authentic SUV appearance, as noted by Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President of Nissan Design. Meanwhile, overseas, it offers a selection of 13 shades including solids, dual-tone shades, and metallic options.

On top of this, with the recently released teasers, a lot of information about the Nissan X Trail was revealed with a rich set of features list now confirmed, including a three-row configuration, dual-pane sunroof, wireless charging, digital instrument console, touchscreen infotainment with physical controls, electric parking brake, and automatic transmission. It also confirms automatic dual-zone climate control, steering-mounted controls, and a center armrest with storage. Previous teasers hinted at its stylish exterior with a split headlamp design, signature V-motion grille, LED tail lamps, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. These elements aim to enhance the SUV's premium appeal and visual attractiveness as it prepares for its launch in the Indian market.

Under The Hood

The upcoming seven-seat SUV will debut exclusively with a petrol variant for the Indian market, differing from the hybrid model showcased in October 2022. It will be powered by a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which internationally delivers 204hp and 305Nm of peak torque. While it will come with a CVT gearbox, details on whether it will offer 2WD or AWD configuration are yet to be disclosed, with AWD being the more likely option. The decision to forgo hybrid technology aims to maintain competitive pricing, despite the inherent cost of importing the vehicle as a CBU.

The pricing is expected to hover around Rs. 35- 40 lakhs and will rival the Skoda KodiaqVolkswagen Tiguan, and other premium SUVs.

Verdict

The Nissan X-Trail SUV enjoys a strong global presence, renowned for its robust mechanical setup and efficient engine performance. However, being imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, it is expected to command a premium price in the market.
