Even though the SUV segment is on the rise in the Indian market, we should not hint you away from the exciting D-Segment sedan launches this April and that is of the new Skoda Octavia. Here are some of the clear spy shots of the 2021 Skoda Octavia.

As from the first round of images shared on the internet, this seems to be the top-spec Laurin and Klement which is the top of the line variant. From the front, the new Octavia lets go of the quad styled headlights and now uses the newer conventional setup with integrated LED daytime running lights.

It also gets a similarly styled butterfly grille which is observed on the Kushaq. This grille is now larger and sits low which gives an aggressive front profile to the Octavia. The lower portion gets a thick chrome surrounding around the foglight.
The side profile gets unique styled alloy wheels and mind you, these are slightly different from what the European model gets. Another highlight is that the C-shaped taillights are now gonna and it now gets inverted L-shaped LED lights with split design. The new Octavia retains sharp creases and lines which gives it a masculine look.
Moving to the cabin inside, you observe a dual-tone black and beige colour scheme which gives it a much premium look. Furthermore, you now get a larger touchscreen infotainment system that takes care of the most commands. There are fewer buttons that give the cabin of the Octavia a cleaner look.
Moving on then you also get a virtual cockpit system along with the chrome knurls on the newer 2-spoke steering wheel for the volume and Bluetooth. The leather treatment on the gear knob, steering wheel and upholstery really brings a character to the new Octavia. Also, the old-school gear lever is now replaced with a drive selector.
Feature-wise, we expect it to get a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, 360-degree camera and other features. For the connectivity, it will get mirror link, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Skoda connected car tech. The latter will help you control some of the functions of the sedan with just a touch of your smartphone.

Safety on this one includes multiple airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) and ESC (electronic stability control). Furthermore, we can expect front parking sensors on the top-spec variant. The rear parking sensors are made standard now.
Coming to the power figures then the Indian version of the Octavia will either get a 2.0L TSI motor or the 1.5L. The latter only to keep the costs in check. The newer 2.0L TSI now generates 190 PS on tap with a peak torque of 320 Nm. This unit is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox which gives a power-packed performance.
As for the prices are concerned then we can expect it to start from Rs 18 lakh while the top-spec Laurin and Klement reserved for Rs 23 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi. Once launched, it will compete with the Hyundai Elantra.
