Skoda Kodiaq Bookings Open From April 17; Deliveries From
Skoda India is gearing up to reveal the pricing for its upcoming flagship SUV, the Skoda Kodiaq. While the official launch is just around the corner, details about bookings and deliveries are already out. Prospective buyers can place their bookings starting 17 April, with deliveries set to begin from 2 May 2025. The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq comes well-equipped with a host of premium features. Beyond the large infotainment screen, it offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone automatic climate control, dual wireless charging pads, multi-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and powered front seats that include heating, ventilation, and even a massage function.
On the safety front, the Kodiaq doesn't hold back, packing in 9 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, park assist, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and much more. The new Skoda Kodiaq sports a larger version of its iconic grille, now with a sleek illuminated strip that adds a modern touch. The headlights have been slimmed down for a sharper, more aggressive front profile, while the bumper gets bold C-shaped details and a narrow air intake to complete the look. From the side, it rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, with unique designs depending on the trim level while at the back, a set of connected LED tail lights ties the whole design together.
Powertrain Options
The upcoming Kodiaq will retain its familiar 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine delivering 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG transmission and all-wheel drive system. Pricing is anticipated to start at around Rs 42 lakh, going up to approximately Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line SUV.
Verdict
The Skoda Kodiaq is going to be a pretty well loaded SUV that will challenge the Toyota Fortuner and while they operate in the same price points, they offer a very different experience. While the Fortuner is more hands on and a little tougher, the Kodiaq tilts towards a much more plush experience. In the past, Kodiaq has done decently for the brand, but it will be interesting to see if the updates can push the volumes up.
