In what seems to be a bid to clear the existing inventory and make the most of the Skoda Rapid before its finally pulled off the shelves, Skoda Auto India has today launched a new limited edition version with a special paint scheme. Dubbed Skoda Rapid Matte, the new model has been priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 1.0 TSI manual variant and Rs 13.49 lakh for the TSI automatic version.

The 2021 Skoda Rapid Matte limited edition is available in an exclusive carbon steel matte paint scheme that enhances the looks of the C2-segment sedan. Along with the distinct paint job, the car even features a gloss black finish on the radiator grille and the spoiler. The rear-end gets the same gloss finish on the diffuser, trunk spoiler and trunk lip applique. Moreover, the new special variant features black-painted alloy wheels that make the side profile appear a tad sportier. Overall, the matte paint and the black highlights end up giving a monochrome look to the vehicle.
Skoda Rapid Matte Limited Edition Interior Features
Inside, the Skoda Rapid Matte Limited Edition features a dual-tone tellur grey colour scheme along with black leatherette and Alcantara inserts. Other than the dark colour scheme that complements the exterior, the cabin even gets some add-ons to justify a premium positioning. These include a USB air-purifier, scuff plates on the door sills that come finished in stainless steel and high visibility bulbs for the headlamps.

Other highlights of the cars equipment list include a 6.5 touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a rear parking camera with rear parking sensors, rear defogger, auto-dimming IRVM, dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and height-adjustable seatbelts.
Skoda Rapid Matte Limited Edition Specifications
Powering the Skoda Rapid Matte Limited Edition is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI turbocharged petrol engine that outputs a maximum power of 108bhp and a peak torque of 175Nm. Other than a handful of new features and the exclusive paintwork, there are no other updates on this vehicle, which means mechanically, it stays the same as the regular version.

The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while the automatic variant features a 6-speed torque-converter unit. The new model is on sale with the carmakers Shield Plus pack that offers a 6 years coverage of roadside assistance, insurance and extended warranty.
