Exterior

Right from the first frames of the official reveal, the Punch facelift stands out with a noticeably refined front end. The silhouette appears sleeker, and the grille and headlamps are visually modernised. The most noticeable update comes from the front, where the DRLs now appear slimmer and more sharply cut. Connecting the DRLs is a black element, which has been noticeably thinned compared to the outgoing model. Earlier, this section had a slightly broader, U-shaped, almost 'smiley' appearance, but the facelift replaces that with a cleaner design.

The lower bumper has also been reworked and now gets a silver, squarish garnish, adding a touch of ruggedness. Notably, fog lamps are not visible, indicating that the fog lamp may now be integrated within the headlamp units. The side profile remains largely unchanged, retaining the upright stance and compact proportions that define the Punch. The only noticeable update here is the introduction of a new alloy wheel design.

At the rear, the facelift brings a more modern appearance with a connected LED light bar setup. The tail lamps have been replaced with a new lighting arrangement, giving the rear a wider and more pronounced look, in line with Tata's newer design language.

Interior

Inside, the Punch facelift appears to remain largely unchanged in layout, but key updates bring it closer to newer Tata offerings. The cabin now features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the one seen on the Punch EV. This is complemented by Tata's new steering wheel design, which comes with an illuminated Tata logo, adding a modern and premium touch to the interior.

Powertrains

One of the most significant upgrades is the turbocharged petrol mill; now the Punch facelift will be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit. Not just this, the teaser also confirms a 6-speed manual gearbox, which was missing for a long time. Additionally, this setup belts out 120hp and 170 Nm of torque.

Verdict

The Tata Punch Facelift is a well-judged update that enhances the micro-SUV's appeal without altering its core identity. With sharper exterior styling, meaningful interior tech upgrades, and the addition of a more powerful turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed manual, Tata has addressed both visual and performance-related gaps of the outgoing model. The facelift keeps the Punch competitive in an increasingly crowded segment while offering buyers a more modern, premium, and engaging package.
