The TVS Motor Company has quietly pulled the plug on the top-end ELS variant of its popular commuter bike. This strategic move comes after the introduction of a new variant in the lineup a few days ago. With this update, the ES+ variant now takes the lead. ELS Variant Discontinued

The ELS variant, previously priced at Rs 65,447 (ex-showroom), has been removed from the official website of TVS. Despite having a higher price tag, the ELS variant did not offer any significant feature upgrades over the lower ES and ES+ variants. So, discontinuing the ELS trim marks a strategic move by TVS to streamline the lineup

Just a few days ago, before discontinuing, TVS launched a new ES+ variant of the Sport. This new variant has been slotted between the existing ES and ELS variants, offering affordability to buyers. Priced at Rs 60,881 (ex-showroom), it offers better graphics and two new colour options: Black Neon & Grey Red for better styling. It aims to be targeted at a younger audience who seeks both style and affordability. However, this variant also offers the USB charging port for added convenience.

Powertrain Details

Having served as a reliable commuter for years, both variants come equipped with their same tried and tested 110cc BS6 engine. This engine belts out 8.1 bhp of power and 8.7 Nm of torque. Paired with a 4-speed gearbox for smooth performance during city commutes. Moreover, TVS claims it can go up to a top speed of 90km/h, which is pretty decent, keeping in mind the fuel efficiency.

Variant Overview

ES Variant: Priced at Rs 59,881 (ex-showroom), it offers four subtle colour options: Starlight Blue, All Black, All Grey and All Red, along with minimal graphics and blacked out alloys.

ES+ Variant: It comes for an additional Rs 1,000, which means, priced at Rs 60,881 (ex-showroom). This variant offers two colour options: Black Neon and Grey Red, along with vibrant graphics, blacked-out exhaust, and a grab rail.

However, both variants come equipped with telescopic front forks and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. Moreover, it comes with drum brakes on both ends analog instrument cluster with an econometer and halogen headlamp.

Verdict

TVS has smartly reshuffled its Sport lineup, eliminating the underwhelming ELS variant and replacing it with the more youthful and value-packed ES+. With modern styling, useful features like USB charging, and a trusted engine, the ES+ makes for a better top-spec choice while keeping things affordable. A practical upgrade for the everyday rider.
