Tata Motors is gearing up for the imminent launch of the refreshed Nexon in the upcoming months. Information about the facelift has emerged online, courtesy of numerous spy shots. Initially, leaked images of both the exterior and interior were circulated, and now, the engine details of the forthcoming Nexon facelift have made their way onto the internet.

Upcoming Tata Nexon Facelift Engine

As per a recent report from the media, the upcoming Nexon facelift will retain its current 1.2-liter turbo petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines. However, notable changes will be introduced in terms of gearbox choices. While the diesel variant will continue to offer the 6-speed manual and AMT transmission, the petrol version will now present a fresh set of options. These include a new 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox, alongside the existing 6-speed manual and AMT transmissions. This means that the petrol engine will be available with four distinct gearbox choices. The 5-speed manual will likely be exclusive to the lower-spec variants, the 7-speed DCT will cater to the higher-spec models, while the 6-speed manual and AMT will be offered in the mid and high spec variants.

While the precise specifications of both engines have not been unveiled, it is anticipated that they will yield comparable power and torque outputs to the current units. The brand has not divulged the launch date yet, but it is foreseen to coincide with the festive season or occur by the end of the year.
