Just recently, VW hiked the prices of all three models offered in their portfolio - Virtus, Taigun and Tiguan. Now, the carmaker is offering huge discounts on their latest entrant - Taigun and Virtus. So much so that the German carmaker is offering benefits worth Rs 80,000 on some variants. Let's have a look here!
One the most popular mid-size SUVs in the segment, Taigun rivals Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq and Nissan Kicks. However, the sales of the Taigun are not that much and hence, the massive discount.
The GT variant with 6-speed MT of the Taigun gets a huge offer of Rs 80,000. This is for the 1.5L TSI motor. It pumps out a peak power and torque of 148 bhp and 250 Nm, respectively. The smaller 1.0L TSI motor attracts Rs 30,000 discount on the base Comfortline trim and Rs 55,000 on the other variants.
The 1.0L TSI engine generates 114 bhp of power with a peak torque of 178 Nm. It gets mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option. The prices of VW Taigun range from 11.56 lakh to Rs 18.71 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Unlike the Taigun where the highest discount is reserved for the top-spec trim, Virtus has a different story. The base Comfortline variant gets the highest offer of Rs 30,000 while the Topline gets Rs 10,000 off. The more powerful GT version too gets a mere discount of Rs 10,000 only.
Mechanically, Virtus gets the same engine options as the Taigun. However, with the 1.5L TSI motor, it gets a 7-speed DSG as a standard fitment. The prices of this sedan sticks from Rs 11.32 lakh to Rs 18.42 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It rivals Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and fifth-gen Honda City.
As of now, there is no information if the company is offering a discount on their flagship model, Tiguan. Note: We request you to connect with your local dealership and know the latest discount offers. They vary from city to city and dealer to dealer.
