The much awaited 2020 Ford Endeavour BS6 has gone on sale in India. Prices start at Rs 29.55 lakh for the Titanium 4x2 AT, going all the way to Rs 33.25 lakh for range topping Titanium+ 4x4 AT. The older 2.2 and 3.2 diesel options will no more be on sale. Bookings have been open for a while and stock building was in process at the dealership level for the past few weeks. Do note that these prices are valid till 30th April 2020 only. Post that, the ex-showroom prices will see an upward revision of INR 70,000.¦nbsp;Ford has confirmed that all customers who end up booking their new Endeavour before April 30 will benefit from the attractive introductory price.
The new 2020 Ford Endeavour BS6 is more affordable than the Toyota Fortuner BS6 diesel. The latter has a starting price of Rs 30.19 lakh and that too for the manual range. Do note that the Fortuner offers a petrol option as well, with prices starting at Rs 28.18 lakh. We do understand that the Fortuner diesel offers a larger, 2.8-litre diesel as compared to 2.0 on the Endeavour. Yes, the big Ford has seen a downsize in terms of engine capacity but power and torque figures remain impressive. This one puts out 170 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque. In comparison, the Fortuner diesel is good for 177 PS of power and 420-450 Nm of torque depending on the gearbox you pick.
The new 2020 Ford Endeavour BS6 is also more fuel efficient than the older models. Ford claims the 4x2 Endy will deliver 13.9 kmpl as per ARAI certification whereas the 4x4 model is good for 12.4 kmpl, again as per ARAI certification. Another big news is the adoption of a 10-speed automatic which is a segment first. So while we know the capacity has gone down, the gearing should be able to extract the best from the motor. We will get to see next week when we go West to Jaisalmer for a first hand experience on open roads as well as off the road - sand dunes!
The new Endeavour also gets FordPass as standard. This connectivity solution allows owners to perform various functions such as starting, stopping, locking or unlocking the vehicle, know remaining fuel levels & distance to empty & locating their vehicle⬜ remotely etc.
Additionally, the new Endeavour also gets all-LED headlamps and these are housed encased in an all-new contemporary square design lamp cluster. The LED lamps for both low and high-beam provide up to 20% greater lighting penetration for enhanced night-time visibility.
