The overall design of the updated model looks similar to the outgoing model but does feature a new headlamp design, updated grille, and a new bumper up front which gives it a bold look and massive road presence. The car also features an updated engine which is now BS6 compliant.

Powering the Mahindra Bolero is a 1.5-L mHAWK75 BS6 diesel engine that churns out 75 hp and 210 Nm of maximum peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 5-Speed engine and gets a single-plate dry clutch. On the performance front, the car may not score very high but overall has enough grunt to pull this car in extreme terrains.

The Bolero gets a bulky and boxy design language while the tall stance and large wheel arches give this SUV a robust and a macho look. Upfront, the car now gets a more aggressive fascia, because of the new headlamp design, refreshed bumper design and a new grille. The overall side profile is largely similar to the outgoing model while at the rear, the new clear lens tail lamp design does increase the overall appeal of the car.
