2023 KIA Seltos Facelift Debuts In India: Bookings Open On July 14

KIA has unveiled the latest avatar of its popular mid-size SUV Seltos in India. The new 2023 KIA Seltos facelift has brought cosmetic changes to its exteriors & interiors. 2023 KIA Seltos Facelift: Design & Feature Updates

The design of the new Seltos is now more futuristic. All thanks to the new front grille, new front bumper, & new LED headlights. Also, the LED DRLs are no different and look similar to the global model. On the side, the new Seltos has been updated with bigger 18-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, the rear end now gets a new set of L-shaped LED taillights, a connected LED brake light bar on the boot lid, & a new rear bumper. It is now available in three different trim options: GT Line, HT Line, & X-Line. All of these versions have different body kit changes and different designs for alloy wheels. It also gets a total of 8 colour options out of which 2 are dual-tone shades & one is a matte edition. A new Pewter Olive green colour has also been added to the paint options.

Inside the cabin, the new model now gets a panoramic dashboard display. It is a single unit that beholds the digital MID (which is completely new) & the infotainment screen as well. The UI of the infotainment system has been updated too. Also, the new Seltos now gets ADAS Level 2 tech with more than 17 active & passive safety features. Apart from this, the leather upholstery & the overall design remains more or less the same as the old model. One of the prominent feature upgrades is the addition of a panoramic sunroof.

Engine & Specifications

KIA has now introduced a new turbo-petrol engine. It is a 1.5-lt 4-cylinder engine that makes a peak power of 160 bhp & 253 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Additionally, it has replaced the 1.4-lt turbo-petrol engine option of the old Seltos. Meanwhile, the rest of the 1.5-lt NA petrol and 1.5-lt turbo-diesel engine options will continue on sale simultaneously. The new Seltos is now available with a mix of AT, iMT, DCT, & MT gearbox options across all of its variants.

Launch Price & Rivals

KIA has only unveiled the new Seltos today. The bookings of the new model will begin by 14 July in India. KIA has also introduced a new program called 'K-Code' under which the existing KIA Seltos owners will be given priority for the deliveries of the new model. Also, the waiting period will be less for the existing customers in the K-code. We expect that KIA will launch the new Seltos in the coming months once the new Honda Elevate prices are out. The current segment rivals of Seltos include Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, & Toyota Hyryder. We expect that due to new features, the Seltos facelift will be priced more than Rs 50,000 high than the outgoing model.

Verdict - The Seltos facelift has been one of the most-awaited car debuts of 2023. The new model has brought a plethora of changes to its design & features list. However, there are no major changes to the SUV in terms of mechanical setup or engine options.
