2025 Skoda Kodiaq Coming With Major Updates
The upcoming Skoda Kodiaq of the next generation, snapped once again, introduces a fresh design while maintaining distinctive elements reminiscent of its predecessor. Embracing Skoda's 'Modern Solid' design ethos, the SUV presents a more dynamic and expansive appearance compared to its predecessor. Notable features include a more prominent vertical slat grille, angular headlamps, fog lights, and redesigned rear lights featuring a continuous light bar spanning the width.
The side profile, however, tells a different tale. The quarter-glass is now sharper and edgier than before giving it a more sporty outlook. The main attraction, however, is the updated alloy wheel design that drapes a more modern design philosophy available in various sizes from 17 to 20 inches. This was something that wasn't visible the last time it was papped owing to its high speed on the highway.
Interior And Features
Regarding features, the upcoming model promises to deliver an impressive array. It's set to include a 13-inch touchscreen, complemented by a 10-inch digital display and featuring voice control. Additional enhancements consist of wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, a premium 12-speaker sound system, a hands-free tailgate, heated seats, and a heads-up display are also on offer, along with a panoramic sunroof for added luxury.
In terms of safety, expect electronic stability control, cruise control, and a comprehensive suite of nine airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS. Notably, the model is anticipated to be equipped with ADAS. The interior design is poised to mirror that of its international counterpart which is already active offshores.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Powertrain
The latest Skoda Kodiaq debuts a new PHEV variant alongside a range of petrol and diesel engine options, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Petrol choices start with a 1.5 TSI engine producing 150PS and 250Nm, featuring mild-hybrid technology, followed by a 2.0-litre TSI engine offering 204PS and 320Nm, paired exclusively with all-wheel drive. Diesel options include a 2.0-litre front-wheel-drive variant with 150PS and 360Nm, and a 2.0-litre all-wheel-drive version producing 193PS and 400Nm.
The standout feature is the new PHEV powertrain, combining a 1.5-litre TSI engine with a 25.7kWh battery pack and an electric motor for a total output of 204PS and an electric range of around 100km. In the Indian market, the model is expected to include 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine choices.

The updated Skoda Kodiaq is expected to make its debut in India sometime in 2025 where it will go up against the likes of MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and other big-size SUVs.
Verdict
The new Kodiaq promises a lot of significant upgrades over its current model. While it gets plenty of powertrain options abroad, expect a modest line-up of engine for the Indian version. However, with its updated styling and boosted tech list, it will attract more buyers to the showroom.
