Citroen Basalt Spotted On Roads Uncovered After Teaser Launch

Yesterday, on 23 July 2024, the Citroen Basalt teaser was released on Youtube, and just a few hours later, it was seen on the roads of Mumbai without camouflage. This time, a true picture of the Basalt emerged, and it appeared elegant in Volcano Red paint, which is also available on the Citroen C5 Aircross. Lets take a deep dive into the details. Citroen Basalt Exterior Updates?

The undisguised Basalt was wearing a new set of alloy wheels, which did not appear to be diamond-cut or machined finish but rather simple 16-inch alloys. Additionally, the A and B pillars were black, along with a small design element on the C pillar. The extended wheel arches in black give it a rugged look and enhance the Coupe SUV shape. To add more, The rear tailights were similar to the one shown in the teaser.

The video was quite short, but it gave a glimpse of a shark fin antenna and a rear bumper with a silver skid plate. In my opinion, the Citroen Basalt appears quite small, more in the segment of the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. I can't imagine it being compared to the Tata Curvv, which is a larger coupe SUV.

Teaser Reveal

If we talk about the teaser, it gave a glimpse of the interior, which is identical to that of the C3 Aircross. However, the French automaker has added automatic climate control in this model, a feature they do not offer in C3.

Also, this car is most likely to get the same 3-cylinder PureTech 110 petrol engine, with 110 PS and 190 Nm of torque with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
