Jeep Compass MT Discontinuation Details
Jeep's base variant called 'Sport' is now being offered with only a 7-speed DCT gearbox, The manual version is no more on sale. However, Jeep has not altered the prices of its butch SUV. Additionally, the base diesel variant still offers the manual gearbox option. Apart from this, there have been no other changes to the Compass. The pricing of the current model lineup is now as follows:

Meanwhile, there are no other changes to the Compass. The petrol version of it uses the tried & tested 1.4-lt, turbo-petrol engine. This engine makes a peak power of 163 PS. However, the slick 6-speed manual transmission is now not on sale. The 7-speed DCT, however, is one fast gearbox that makes the power of the engine more enjoyable.
Moreover, the diesel iteration of the Sport variant still offers the 6-speed manual. It is equipped with the reliable & powerful 2.0-lt, turbo-diesel engine option. This engine makes a peak power output of 170 PS. One can also opt for an automatic gearbox with this engine i.e. 9-speed torque converter. The MT variant comes with only an FWD while the AT variant comes with an AWD drivetrain. The feature list on the Compass sport includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, single-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, etc.
Verdict
Due to a high number of customers shifting towards the automatic gearbox options; Jeep has taken this step. However, if you love to drive a manual gearbox; be ready to shift to the diesel option with the Compass. Its main rivals in India are - Tata Harrier, Citroen C5 Aircorss, & Hyundai Tucson.
