Kia Seltos Rival, 2020 Hyundai Creta Launched - Price Starts At ₹ 9.9 Lakh

Hyundai has launched its popular SUV, Creta in its second generation, and the price for the 2020 model starts at Rs 9.99 Lakh. The top-spec variant of 2020 Hyundai Creta gets a sticker price of Rs 17.20 lakh. The 2020 Creta will be sold in E, EX, S, SX and SX(O) trims.

The popularity of Creta is such that the SUV has already received 14,000 bookings and the numbers are rising. To be precise, then more than 50% of the numbers are for the BS6 Diesel version. It comes in three BS6 compliant engines - two petrol and one diesel. All of them are borrowed from Kia Seltos, however, the ARAI certified fuel efficiency is different.

It comes in a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol which makes 115 PS of power and carries an optional IVT gearbox. Second in-line is the turbo petrol, 1.4L GDI unit which makes 140 bhp on tap with 242 Nm of peak torque. This engine only comes in a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The oil burner comes with a 1.5L unit which makes 115 bhp and gets an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard for both 1.5L petrol and diesel engine.

The ARAI certified mileage figures for the 1.5L petrol are 16.8 km/l for the manual gearbox and 16.9 km/l for the IVT. Turbo petrol returns 16.8 km/l while the 1.5L turbocharged diesel delivers 21.4 for the manual and 18.5 km/l in the automatic. The figures are the best in its segment.
Sharing more details on this feature-loaded SUV of 2020, the second generation Creta gets an elegant split headlight at the front and the same can be said for the rear. The exteriors are just the same as the one seen in global markets but it is the cabin which gets revamped design. The mid-size SUV also gets four-wheel design which differs from variant to variant.
Coming to the features then Hyundai Creta offers a large panoramic sunroof. Yes, the electric sunroof is long gone. It also gets Hyundai's signature technology, also called as the BlueLink Connected tech. This first came with the Venue followed by Elantra and then moving to Creta and soon to be launched facelifted Verna.
This connected technology is also accessible via Voice Command. And one can also control it with an app on your smartwatch or smartphone you have. The BlueLink technology offers several features such as Remote Start/Stop, Horn and Light Control, Doors Lock and Unlock, providing Real-Time Traffic Information, Destination Link in with Schedule, Climate Control and several others.
Safety features on the all-new Hyundai Creta include Six Airbags, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management, Rear Disc Brakes, Hill Assist Control (HAC), Rear Parking Camera, Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.
Hyundai Creta interiors will come in two different themes - two-tone black and beige and another will be all black interiors with Orange Colour Pack. The colour options on the Hyundai Creta are different from the turbo petrol variant.
The 1.5L petrol and diesel will come in Typhoon Silver, Polar White, Red Mulberrry, Galaxy Blue, Lava Orange, Phantom Black and Titan Grey. While the Turbo Petrol trim will come in Polar White with Phantom Black Roof, Lava Orange with Phantom Black roof and Deep Forest which is only offered in a single tone.
