Earlier this year, Mahindra unveiled the Scorpio N Pik Up concept at a global event in Cape Town, South Africa based on the Scorpio N SUV. And the enthusiasts went gaga over the rugged SUV turning into a proper pickup truck. Now, finally, the pickup has recently been registered in India and is anticipated to be launched in 2025.

Let's look at what the design patent leaks suggest.

2025 Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup: Details

The Scorpio N Pik Up concept, having garnered widespread acclaim for its robust and rugged design, now appears poised for an imminent launch in India. The recent unveiling of design patent images reveals that the upcoming Scorpio N pickup retains much of the conceptual charm that won hearts during its showcase. The production version, built on the same platform as its SUV counterpart, exhibits distinct styling updates, particularly in the front fascia.

While sharing the same platform as the SUV version, the Scorpio N pickup features notable updates including new headlamps, LED DRLs, an all-black grille, a robust front bumper, a metallic bash plate, and dual tow hooks. The sides showcase dedicated mounting steps for the doors, potentially hinting at increased ground clearance. The rear design includes rectangular tail lamps, and the pickup may feature additional elements like a functional snorkel, a heavy-duty roof rack with floodlight, new alloy wheels, and a rear roll cage.

Moving to the sides, the Scorpio N pickup showcases dedicated mounting steps for both the front and rear doors, indicating a potential enhancement in ground clearance compared to the SUV model. This suggests that the pickup variant might feature a tweaked suspension setup and larger wheels to achieve a higher stance. The SUV version boasts a ground clearance of 187 mm, and it remains to be seen how much this is increased in the Scorpio N pickup. The rear design is characterized by rectangular tail lamps, continuing the model's robust and utilitarian appeal.

Powertrain

The Mahindra Scorpio N Pik Up, will feature the next-gen MHawk engine and 6-speed automatic transmission, promising robust performance and seamless gear shifts. With 4WD and low-range capabilities, it's tailored for versatile terrains. Offering multiple drive modes, 5G connectivity, and potential ADAS features, the Scorpio N Pik Up is checking all the boxes for being future-ready.

Indian Launch

Mahindra has a strong presence in international markets like South Africa, New Zealand, and more where the SUV segment shows increasing trends. This pickup will first land in these markets and the Indian launch will take some time later. It is expected to reach Indian showrooms by 2025.

Verdict

Overall, the Scorpio N Pik Up concept, now transitioning to a production-ready avatar, seems poised to offer a unique blend of rugged aesthetics, off-road capabilities, and practicality, making it a compelling addition to the pickup truck segment. The pickup's distinctive features and design elements position it as a formidable contender against rival models, suggesting an exciting prospect for enthusiasts and potential buyers alike.
