The Mahindra Thar Roxx is a significant upgrade from the 3-door Thar, offering a more luxurious and feature-rich experience. It boasts ventilated seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, an electronic parking brake, a 26.03 cm infotainment display with a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS. While the 3-door Thar prioritizes ruggedness, the Thar Roxx leans towards sophistication and luxury. In response to feedback from early reviews, Mahindra has introduced a darker Mocha brown shade for the seat upholstery, which will be available starting in January 2025. However, customers opting for the RWD model will be limited to the ivory-white color option, requiring aftermarket modifications for darker seat covers.
The Thar offers two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 150 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque in the base manual model, with an increase to 160 horsepower in higher trims. The automatic petrol version delivers an impressive 175 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 150hp and 330 Nm of torque for both manual and automatic rear-wheel-drive configurations. The top-spec four-wheel-drive automatic variant offers a slightly higher output of 171 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque.

Price And Rivals
The RWD variants of the Mahindra Thar Roxx begin at Rs. 12.99 lakhs whereas for the 4X4 models, the prices begin from Rs. 18.79 lakhs. As for the rivals, the Mahindra Thar Roxx competes with the Force Gurkha 5-Door and Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the off-road SUV segment.
