Mahindra Thar: New Waiting Period Details

The Mahindra Thar comes in two different drivetrain options: 4x2, which powers two wheels, and 4x4, which powers all four wheels. Currently, the 4x4 version, available in both petrol and diesel, has an average waiting period of 6 weeks to 2 months. The 4x2 petrol version now has a waiting period of up to 4 months. Meanwhile, the 4x2 diesel version has a waiting period of 9-10 months, offering a slight improvement with a waiting period of 1 month less.

Mahindra Thar: Under The Hood

The Mahindra Thar SUV offers three engine options to suit different preferences. The 2.2-litre diesel engine delivers 130PS of power and 300Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine generates 150PS of power and 320Nm of torque. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

For those looking for a more fuel-efficient option, there's also a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which produces 118PS of power and 300Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. When it comes to drivetrain options, the 1.5-litre diesel and the 2-litre turbo-petrol are up for grabs with rear-wheel drive, while the turbo-petrol and the 2.2-litre diesel engine come with the added perk of four-wheel drive.
