Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Revamped Cabin: 3-Screen Layout Takes Centre Stage

Just like Mahindra's latest electric SUVs, the Mahindra XUV700 facelift adopts a triple-screen dashboard, an integrated panel housing a digital instrument cluster, the main infotainment unit, and a dedicated co-driver display. This setup ushers the XUV700 into a new league of tech-heavy family SUVs. The spy shots also confirm a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring the illuminated Twin Peaks logo, wrapped in dual-tone brown-and-black leatherette. Matching brown soft-touch materials extend across the dashboard, signalling a more premium approach to cabin design.

The centre AC vents are now slimmer and chrome-accented, replacing the older blocky layout. An auto-dimming IRVM and a Harman Kardon premium audio system, likely similar to the BE lineup's 16-speaker configuration, further elevate the in-cabin experience. Although the test mule carried plenty of wires and development hardware, the attention to detail suggests Mahindra is preparing a substantially upgraded interior package.
Updated Exterior Elements Also Coming

Recent sighting also confirms exterior cosmetic revisions for the facelift. Updates include a new front grille design, redesigned twin-barrel LED headlights, refreshed DRLs, and a revised tail-lamp signature. Additional fog lamp elements, possibly with cornering functionality, are visible as well. Most features from the current model remain untouched: Level-2 ADAS, all-four disc brakes, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats with memory, wireless smartphone connectivity, and more.

No Major Mechanical Changes Expected

Mahindra is expected to retain the current powertrains for the XUV700 facelift, as both engines continue to perform strongly in the segment. This means the updated model should continue with the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel available in both manual and automatic trims, along with the option of 4WD, as well as the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol paired with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes. The test mule that was recently spotted featured an automatic gear selector and carried a 'Diesel' sticker, confirming that Mahindra is currently validating the diesel-automatic combination for the facelifted version.
Verdict
The Mahindra XUV700 already set the segment on fire with its technology, performance, and value. The upcoming facelift appears to double down on exactly those pillars, introducing a class-leading triple-screen cockpit, richer materials, upgraded electronics, and a refreshed exterior identity. With no changes expected mechanically, the updated XUV700 (or XUV7XO) is shaping up as a tech-forward, comfort-upgraded evolution rather than a ground-up redesign. If Mahindra prices it intelligently, the facelift is poised to once again reset expectations in the three-row SUV segment when it launches in 2026.
