Starting the new year with a slew of price revisions, Maruti Suzuki has updated its portfolio with revised pricing and now the Maruti Fronx gets a new price tag with both an upward and downward pattern. The prices of specific Maruti Fronx variants, including Sigma 1.2 MT, Delta 1.2 MT, Sigma 1.2 CNG, Delta 1.2 CNG, and Delta Plus 1.2 MT, have been increased by Rs. 5,000 each. Meanwhile, the Zeta 1.0 turbo 6AT and Alpha 1.0 turbo 6AT have undergone a reduction of Rs. 10,000 each. The revised prices now range from Rs. 7.52 lakhs to Rs. 13.04 lakhs. It continues to challenge the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch in the segment.

Powertrain
The Fronx offers two engine options: a 1.2L petrol engine for daily commutes and a 1.0L Boosterjet engine for a sportier ride. The 1.2L petrol engine is available with a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission, churning out 90hp and 113Nm, while the 1.0L Boosterjet engine is available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter, rated at 100hp and 148Nm. Maruti Suzuki notes that approximately 7 percent of sales account for the Boosterjet engine.
Verdict
The price hike was imminent and here it is, but with a silver lining. While on one hand the quantua of surge is rational, there is a downward trend in select variants as well. If you are planning to buy a new car this year, amke sure to recheck the prices once again for any updates.
