Maruti Suzuki eWX Patented In India - Entry-Level Maruti EV Coming Soon?

Maruti Suzuki is getting ready to enter the electric vehicle market in 2025. The brand will launch its first EV in the market in 2025 and it will be the eVX compact SUV. Now, it seems like the brand has also made plans to bring entry-level electric vehicles to the eWX in the Indian market as well. Suzuki Motor Corporation has filed a design patent for the eWX small hatchback in India. This recent patent filing suggests that it could be Maruti Suzuki's second EV in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki eWX - Small Electric Hatchback

The eWX was showcased at the Bangkok Motor Show earlier this year. The EV boasts a boxy design and some quirky design elements. Dimension-wise the EV measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height.

At the front, it boasts a rectangular-shaped LED lighting setup and DRLs, the lower bumper also gets a quirky design with hexagonal design elements. The EV also gets neon highlights which makes it more eye-catching. The rear also gets a similar tail lamp design as the front. The side profile gets a quirky-looking alloy wheel design with similar neo accents. The EV follows a minimalistic design language.

Moving to the interior, the neon highlights remain and the rectangular and round shapes continue to dominate the interior as well. The steering is in a bit rounded and squarish shape, the dashboard is rectangular with rounded edges, and the neon highlights are available on the door pads, dashboard, seats, and other elements. On the features front, the eWX is expected to be filled with a plethora of features such as dual-display setup, wireless connectivity, and wireless charging, among other comfort and convenience features.

However, all these design elements were showcased on the concept model, the final production-spec variant could get some changes.

Maruti Suzuki eWX Specifications

The brand has not yet revealed the specifications of the upcoming EV but it is expected to boast a significant-sized battery pack that will offer it a range of 230-250 km on a single charge. The brand may launch the eWX with multiple battery packs and range options.
