The MG Mifa 9 MPV is the next thing from Morris Garages, under its new MG Select premium sub-brand. However, the car maker is bringing it here under a new name, called the MG M9, and it is set to make its debut at the upcoming 2025 Auto Expo, alongside many other cars from the lineup.

MG M9 MPV: Details
The M9 MPV is a premium electric van which gets some rather unique styling bits. It gets an upright, slab-like nose, with a full-length LED strip running along, and the 'Morris Garages' badging spread just above. The headlights are placed on the bumper, like most modern cars.
Moving towards the side, the front and rear door handles are placed in such a way that they look like one single unit, and the chrome treatment on the C-pillar stands out. The rear of the car will remind you of certain Japanese luxury MPVs, with a sleek vertical LED tail light treatment, and a full-length LED strip connecting them.
Under the skin, the M9 MPV features a single electric motor sending power to the front wheels, producing 241bhp nd 350Nm of torque. This setup is backed by a 90kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of 430km on a single charge.

Globally, the M9 MPV comes in three variants, and it remains to be seen which ones will make it to India. In terms of features, it comes with things like electric sliding rear doors, powered tailgate, powered ORVMs with heating and memory function, climate conttrol, air purifier, power adjustable seats with ventilation and massage function, a privacy glass, a 12 speaker sound system, and 64 colour ambient lighting among other things. It also gets an ADAS suite, along with a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking and more.
The M9 will not have direct rivals, but the Kia Carnival could be considered as one of them. More details to be known once it is launched at the 2025 Auto Expo, so stay tuned!

Verdict
The Mifa 9 MPV is going to be a part of MG's strategy to take it to a more premium, aspirational segment with buyers looking for luxury at a price tag that is still fairly accessible. MG's pricing will be interesting here.
