New Performance-Oriented TVS Apache 165 RP To Launch Soon

TVS has teased their upcoming performance-oriented TVS Apache 165 RP. The new motorcycle will be The Pinnacle of Performance.

Recently, TVS released a teaser of the new TV Apache RTR 165 RP which hints that the motorcycle will launch soon. The initials stand for Racing Performance, and future RP edition motorcycles of other Apache models will also launch. The 165 RP will be based on the 160 4V.

The teaser video does not describe/show much about the bike, aside from the tagline The Pinnacle of Performance. By the sound of it, the RTR 165 RP will be catered towards enthusiasts, with lots of scope for self-tuning and modification, like BTO RR Apache RR310. TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: Design And Features

Being a new bike, the Apache RTR 165 RP will boast of revisions to distinguish itself from the 160 4V. It should be sportier, with revised ergonomics with slightly rear-set footpegs, and lowered clip-on handlebars. As far as suspension settings are concerned, the 165 RP might see the same telescopic forks and Showa-sourced mono-shock with pre-load adjustability from the 160 4V. However, you can expect that the damping settings to get stiffer. Chances of adjustable suspensions too can't be ruled out. Braking duties will hopefully be handled by the same teethed single-disc brakes on both front and rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Feature-wise, the RTR 165 RP will get an all-LED illumination and a fully-digital instrument cluster that might also come with SmartXonnect connectivity features, hopefully, the same as the 160 4V. Other features would include, LED DRLs, one-touch start, and Glide-Through-Traffic Technology (GTT).

 TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: Powertrain

Going by its past nomenclature styling, the RTR 165 RP should come with a 165 cc engine. But chances are that it will be the same four-valve, 159.7 cc engine, available with 160 4V, but tuned.  The mill currently puts out 17.63 bhp and 14.73 Nm of torque. These segment-leading numbers might increase in the 165 RP. Transmission duties might be mated to a 5-speed unit, but nothing can be confirmed yet.

TVS Apache RTR 165 RP: Launch Date and Expected Price

Given the teasers launch time, chances are that the new Apache RTR 165 RP Edition will launch next month in January 2022. Prices will of course be higher than the RTR 160 4V, which is priced at Rs. 1,12 ,255. However, nothing can be confirmed as of yet.
