Next-Gen Mahindra Bolero Launch In 2026 - Confirmed?

Mahindra has silently confirmed that a new-gen Bolero is being planned for 2026. The Mahindra Bolero is one of the iconic and robust SUVs in India. In fact, a good chunk of sales to Mahindra come from Bolero. The new model will have a brand new architecture and new-gen engine options. Read all of the known details about it below.

Mahindra Bolero Update - What Will Be New?

The new Bolero is currently under development, as per Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, the Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra. In a recent media conversation, Rajesh confirmed that a new U171 platform is being developed to house the upcoming next-gen Bolero SUV and other pickup trucks. As per Mahindra, the current market share of more than 70 percent is owned by ICE vehicle sales. The rest of the sales are owned by EVs, which are growing gradually.

Bolero has been bread and butter to Mahindra for decades. Known for its robust build and capable mechanical setup, the Bolero remains the sales chart topper for Mahindra in the rural regions of India. However, it has been using the same platform for decades and a new-gen shift is now mandatory. While there are fewer details available about this new Bolero, we can expect it to have a new design with an iconic boxy shape. Also, the engine will change for better performance and efficiency. But it won't be anytime before late 2026 or early 2027 that we get to witness the new model in person.
